Job summary

Davies Group is looking for an experienced Loss Adjuster to join our Casualty team. The role involves investigating claims and liaising with insurers and policyholders in the South East of England. Qualifications

• Proven experience in Loss Adjusting essential.
• Strong understanding of insurance and legal principles required.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills necessary.
• Understanding of legal principles and civil procedure.
• Good communication at all levels and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with Insurers, Policyholders, and Brokers.
• Investigate allocated claims in the field.
• Prepare Preliminary Reports detailing evidence and comments.
• Prepare Preliminary Reports detailing evidence and conclusions.
• Assess policy indemnity, legal liability, quantum and tactics.
• Determine appropriate action for resolution of the case.
• Defend or negotiate settlements within authority limits.
• Maintain professional correspondence to progress cases.
• Follow documented procedures and keep reserves under review.
• Stay updated on technical changes and participate in training.

Skills

Previous Loss Adjuster experience

Experience of investigating and handling Casualty Claims

Knowledge of insurance and the insurance market

Knowledge of legal principles, regulations, Acts

Good communications skills at all levels

Excellent customer service

Strong IT Skills

Davies are looking to recruit an experienced Loss Adjuster to join our growing Casualty team. At Davies, we value transferable skills and qualities that focus on what you can bring to the role. The role would suit an experienced Casualty Adjuster/investigator seeking a fresh challenge.

This role is field-based covering caseloads in the South East, therefore travel in this area is necessary.

Key Responsibilities

• Liaison with Insurers, Policyholders and Brokers
• Investigation of allocated claims in the field or from the desk
• Compilation of all necessary evidence and relevant documentation
• Preparation of Preliminary Reports detailing the evidence available and commenting upon
• Policy Indemnity, Legal Liability, Quantum, and Tactics
• Determine appropriate action for resolution of the case
• Defend or negotiate settlement where appropriate, within agreed authority limits
• Correspond with all parties professionally to proactively progress the case to conclusion
• Investigate and handle all cases in accordance with the client’s requirements by referral to documented procedures at all times
• Maintain a proper reserve at all times by regular review
• Keep updated on any technical changes relevant to your role including participating in training programmes facilitated by the company
• All Staff are expected to carry out any reasonable instruction given by their line manager, in line with business requirements.

• Previous Loss Adjuster experience
• Experience of investigating and handling Casualty Claims
• Knowledge of insurance and the insurance market
• Knowledge of legal principles, regulations, Acts and the like
• Knowledge of Civil procedure Rules and the Claims Portal
• Good communications skills at all levels
• Excellent customer service
• The ability to work as part of a team
• Good planning and organisational skills
• Take responsibility for your own workload
• Must be able to demonstrate adaptability and flexibility
• Strong IT Skills
• A full drivers licence is essential
