Job summary

Sodexo is seeking a Ward Assistant at Royal Stoke Hospital to deliver meals and support a positive patient experience. You will work on wards, serving meals to patients, staff and visitors with a cheerful attitude while upholding food safety and hygiene standards.

The role offers a 0 hour contract with variable shifts (09:00–19:00). Benefits include uniform provided, holidays and access to wellbeing resources. Location is Royal Stoke Hospital in Stoke-on-Trent.

Responsibilities

• Provide efficient and professional ward catering service and communicate with ward staff.
• Complete daily documentation accurately and in line with schedules and standards.
• Safely transport and deliver food and beverages to wards, complying with food safety regulations.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in ward kitchens and storage areas.
• Ensure catering equipment is safe, clean and maintained, reporting issues to supervisor.

What You'll Do:

• Provide an efficient and professional catering service on wards, communicating effectively with colleagues and ward staff.
• Complete daily documentation accurately and in line with required schedules, procedures and standards.
• Safely transport and deliver food and beverage trolleys to wards, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across ward kitchens, pantries and catering work areas.
• Ensure catering equipment is safe, clean and in good working order, completing routine cleaning and maintenance checks and reporting any issues to the supervisor.
