Advance is looking for Casual Support Workers in Leicester City to support customers with learning disabilities, autism, complex needs, or mental health conditions to live the lives they choose. Please note this is an outreach service involving lone working and visiting customers' homes.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with personal care and hygiene (if required)
  • Supporting adults with mental health and learning difficulties
  • Medication administration (if required)
  • Supporting with preparing and cooking meals
  • Supporting with attending medical appointments
  • Supporting with social activities
  • Supporting with independent skills
  • Supporting with domestic duties such as cleaning and laundry
  • Keeping accurate records and updating care plans as required
  • Keeping up to date with your training
  • Ensuring the premises are secure and safe during the night
  • Supporting with meal times and food preparation (if required)
  • Supporting with regular safety checks on the customer

About the candidate:

No previous experience in care is necessary. What matters are your values, passion, and determination to make a difference in the lives of people with autism or learning disabilities.

If you think a Casual Support Worker role is right for you, you will need to:

  • Work well alone and in a team
  • Communicate effectively with people
  • Complete accurate support records
  • Work every other weekend
  • Follow Support Plans and Risk Assessments, maintaining customer records
  • Be literate and numerate in English
  • Willingness to achieve the Care Certificate
