Job summary

BH Live is recruiting a Casual Snowsports Instructor for Alpine Snowsports Centre in Southampton. The role involves delivering instructed sessions in a safe, engaging manner, aligned to centre procedures and safety standards.

You will work as part of a team delivering high-quality snowsports experiences, with hours including weekends and evenings. A valid Snowsports England instructor qualification and ongoing license affiliation are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum Snowsports England Foundation Ski or Snowboard Instructor qualification.
• Active affiliation with license provider.
• First aid and safeguarding evidence if required by licensor.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers in line with professional expectations.
• Set up internal areas and slope spaces for safe operation.
• Manage kit-up and kit-down of snowsports equipment.
• Deliver sessions within your qualification and centre procedures.
• Ensure health, safety and risk assessments are followed.
• Assist with housekeeping to maintain cleanliness.

Post Title: Casual Snowsports Instructor

Site Location: Alpine Snowsports Centre - Southampton Outdoor Sports Centre

Hourly Rate: £13.21 - £14.21 per hour - dependant on instructor and/or coach qualification

Contract Type: Casual

The role:

BH Live is recruiting for Casual Snowsports Instructor to join our team at Alpine Snowsports, within Southampton's Outdoor Centre.

Alpine Snowsports Centre is currently undergoing a significant redevelopment, where it will benefit from a new lodge as well as three resurfaced slopes, with the addition of a dedicated learning area.

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering instructed and/or coached snowsports sessions, in a safe, engaging and customer centric way in line with the centre's operating procedures.

You'll be part of a enthusiastic team of snowsports instructors and coaches that deliver sessions to the highest quality assurances consistently with confidence.

The hourly rate will be dependant on your instructor and/or coach qualifications:

• Level 1 - £13.21 per hour
• Level 2 - £13.71 per hour
• Level 3 - £14.21 per hour

You will:

• Welcome customers in line with professional expectations.
• Ensure internal areas and slope spaces are set up for safe operational use.
• Confidently undertake the kit-up and kit-down of all participants relevant snowsports equipment.
• Deliver sessions within the remit of your instructor and/or coach qualifications and the centres operating procedures.
• Ensure health, safety and risk assessments are adhered to throughout all sessions and activities.
• Support with housekeeping requirements to maintain cleanliness expectations.

You will need:

• A minimum of a Snowsports England Foundation Ski or Snowboard Instructor qualification and to maintain an active affiliation membership with your license provider.
• A recognised equivalent or level 2, 3, and 4 instructor and/or coach qualifications are also welcomed and are compensated for within our casual snowsports instructor pay structure.
• If your license provider stipulates that you require supplementary qualifications, such as a first aid qualification and safeguarding certificate, then you must be able to evidence these.
• To maintain an active license by adhering to all mandatory continuous professional development criteria set out by your license provider.
• To demonstrate that you can confidently deliver the centre's sessions and activities to our professional expectations.
• An understanding of our health, safety, and risk assessments including an awareness of our escalation procedures.
• To know how to issue snowsports equipment to each type of participant and pass our internal competency test.

Due to the nature of our business hours of work will include weekends, bank holidays and evenings.
