Job summary

West Sussex County Council is seeking a Casual Senior Support Worker to join Hammonds in Bognor Regis. The role focuses on outcome-based care, promoting independence and community involvement for local residents.

You will pick up duty shifts (24 hours, 14:00-14:00) and support individuals to maintain health and relationships, within a supportive team and safeguarding framework.

Qualifications

  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills to record activities in provider support plans.
  • Basic understanding of the needs of the people we support and their rights as an individual.
  • Demonstrable successful experience of working as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety practice, First Aid and Fire procedure, Manual Handling - Desirable
  • NVQ 2/Diploma in Care or equivalent qualification - Desirable
  • Previous experience of working in a care setting and with people who have a disability or are vulnerable - Desirable
  • Previous experience of running group activities - Desirable

About the job

We are looking for a Casual Senior Support Worker to join our team at Hammonds. This role provides outcome-based care, promoting independence and we aim to enable every person to be engaged in their local community to the best of their ability.

Salary

Hourly rate = £18.93- £20.58

Working Pattern

Casual

*Casual Senior Support Workers would be expected to pick up duty shifts (24 hours, 14:00-14:00), managing the service out of hours including sleep in duty

  • You are able to interpret information, such as service complaints, and redirect them to the appropriate person to provide quick and accurate resolution.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • You will show the ability to deal appropriately with expressive behaviour from the people we support and respond sensitively to their families and carers.
  • Confident in building relationships with people from a wide variety of cultural, religious, and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Enjoy working as part of a team completing shared tasks as required.
