Education World Ltd in the North East is hiring casual Secondary School Support Assistants across Newcastle, Northumberland and the wider North East to support learning and pupil development.

Roles include Learning Support Assistant, 1:1 Support Assistant, Exam Invigilator or Cover Supervisor in mainstream and specialist settings, with flexible hours to suit university studies or other commitments.

Qualifications

• A genuine passion for working with young people and supporting their education.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a wider school team.
• Flexibility and adaptability to work across different secondary school environments.
• Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.
• Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject is desirable.
• DBS Update Service would be hugely beneficial.
• Reference details covering the last 2 years.
• Proof of address and right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching staff in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
• Provide 1:1 or small group support to students who require additional assistance.
• Support students with SEN, SEMH, behavioural, or additional learning needs where appropriate.
• Assist with classroom and behaviour management strategies.
• Supervise students during lessons or when covering classes where appropriate.
• Support the smooth and effective running of examinations.
• Help create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
• Build positive relationships with students and encourage their engagement in education.

This is a fantastic casual, flexible opportunitywhich could suit university students, those working weekends, graduates, or anyone looking to build valuable experience within secondary education around other commitments.

Depending on your experience and interests, opportunities could include working as a Learning Support Assistant, 1:1 Support Assistant, Exam Invigilator, or Cover Supervisor, across a range of mainstream secondary and specialist school settings.
