Job summary

Shropshire Council is recruiting a Residential Care Worker to support the day-to-day care of children and young people in our residential homes. You will work to a structured care plan, helping each young person achieve their potential and ensuring their needs are met with compassion and consistency.

Join our dedicated homes team to cover seven days a week, including early mornings, days, evenings and weekends. Sleep-in duties may be required as part of the shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience in care settings is advantageous.
• Ability to work with vulnerable children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day care under a structured care plan.
• Support emotional, social and developmental needs of the children.
• Be available for sleep-in duties as part of shifts and cover seven days a week.

You will be responsible for the day to day care of the young people ensuring that their needs are met in line with a structured care plan. It can be challenging at times but every day is different and watching a child grow and achieve their full potential can give you a huge sense of pride and achievement.

Joining the residential homes team, you will have the opportunity to work across our children's homes, helping to provide child centred care 7 days a week including some early mornings, days, evenings and weekends. You will also be requested to be available to sleep-in as part of the hours completed.
