Job summary

Shropshire Council residential services is seeking a Residential Care Worker to provide day-to-day care for young people in line with a structured care plan. The role offers the chance to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable children in the Shropshire area.

You may work across the children’s homes, 7 days a week, including early mornings, days, evenings and weekends, and may be required to sleep-in as part of the hours.

The role of a Residential Care worker is exciting and fulfilling. You will be responsible for the day to day care of the young people ensuring that their needs are met in line with a structured care plan. It can be challenging at times but every day is different and watching a child grow and achieve their full potential can give you a huge sense of pride and achievement.

Joining the residential homes team, you will have the opportunity to work across our children’s homes, helping to provide child centred care 7 days a week including some early mornings, days, evenings and weekends. You will also be requested to be available to sleep-in as part of the hours completed.
