Gloucester City Homes is seeking a Casual Relief Support Worker to support vulnerable young people aged 18-25 in a new supported housing setting. This role involves varying hours and responsibilities, providing crucial guidance and support to help residents enhance their skills for independent living. Essential qualities include strong communication, understanding of diverse needs, and a commitment to helping young people thrive.
At our new and exciting young persons supported housing property we are required to be agile to meet the changing and evolving needs on a day-to-day basis for the scheme. We therefore need to be able to adapt the exact staffing levels required and are seeking casual zero hours workers to support us in meeting the fluctuating demands of the service.
Hours offered will vary on a week-by-week basis across a range of shifts that may be any time between the hours 8am-10pm, 7 days a week across the team.
The opportunity
Its an exciting time for us as we have recently acquired a new homeless property to support young people aged 18-25 at risk of homelessness and rough sleeping.
A great opportunity to develop your skills, work varying hours around your other commitments and perhaps build your career in Supported Housing, as aCasual Relief Support Workeryou will support young people with multiple and complex needs, so they can articulate and achieve their aspirations and ambitions and acquire the skills they need to live independent and fulfilling lives.
Within this role, youll deliver one to one key work sessions, groupwork and activities through the support model so that residents can access tailored solutions that meet their needs, wishes and aspirations. Youll work creatively and effectively alongside young people to inspire and encourage them to develop their talents as they seek employment, volunteering, and training opportunities.
Ensuring young people are encouraged to take responsibility for their own personal development, to engage with the services on offer and build strong networks and connections within the local community to sustain their journey when they move on, youll ensure their views, aspirations, concerns, and ideas are sought so they can play an active role in influencing the services they receive.
