Nelson and Colne College is hiring Casual Learning Support Assistants to join the Additional Learning Support Team. You will support learners with diverse needs, helping them access learning and build confidence in a variety of settings across college sites.
Full training and ongoing professional development will be provided. You will work with teaching staff to promote inclusion, independence and successful participation in college life.
Salary: £13.35 per hour
Hours: Casual, variable hours as required

Site: Accrington & Rossendale College; Nelson and Colne College; Lancashire Adult Learning (various community venues throughout the county)

A rewarding opportunity has become available for Casual Learning Support Assistants to join our Additional Learning Support Team. This is a varied and fulfilling role supporting learners with a wide range of additional needs, disabilities and barriers to learning. You will work alongside teaching staff to help learners participate fully in college life, access their learning and develop the confidence and independence needed to achieve their goals. Support may take place in a variety of settings including classrooms, workshops, practical learning environments, outdoor activities, community-based learning, work placements, volunteering opportunities and dedicated Additional Learning Support spaces during lunch periods. We are looking for caring, empathetic and positive individuals who are passionate about supporting young people to succeed. Previous SEND experience is welcome but not essential. We are equally interested in applicants with strong communication skills, a willingness to learn and a genuine commitment to inclusion.
Previous experience working with young people, learners with SEND, care settings, youth work, support services or community organisations would be advantageous but is not essential.
Full training and ongoing professional development will be provided.
