Job summary

Adecco UK is recruiting a HGV Refuse Collection Driver to join a team of key workers and help improve the environment. The role offers a predictable schedule with pre-planned routes and set start/finish times, ensuring time for family and friends.

You will carry out daily refuse and recycling collections, use in-cab tech, complete paperwork in real time, perform vehicle checks, and maintain good customer relations.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 2 driving licence (with no more than 6 points).
• Driver CPC.
• Willingness to help refuse loaders while on rounds to enable route completion.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated and willing to undertake tasks.
• Clean drivers licence.
• Previous relevant experience desirable, but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out refuse and recycling collections daily.
• Undertake all duties in a professional manner deploying safe lifting and handling techniques appropriate to articles left for removal.
• Use in-cab technology and mobile devices as directed.
• Complete relevant paperwork in real time.
• Carry out daily inspections and reporting for machinery and vehicles, before and after use.
• Ensure the cleanliness of machinery and vehicles.
• Maintain excellent customer and client relations, particularly with members of the public and other motor users.

As a HGV Refuse Collection Driver, you'll:

• Carry out refuse and recycling collections daily, with skills and knowledge of all machinery aspects of the job
• Undertake all duties in a professional manner deploying safe lifting and handling techniques appropriate to articles left for removal
• Use in-cab technology and mobile devices as directed
• Complete relevant paperwork in real time
• Carry out daily inspections and reporting for machinery and vehicles, before and after use
• Ensure the cleanliness of machinery and vehicles.
• Maintain excellent customer and client relations, particularly with members of the public and other motor users Your typical working hours will be:

5.45am to 1.45pm Monday to Friday
