Job summary

Gregory Distribution Ltd is seeking Class 1 Casual Driver to deliver fresh milk to the dairy. Roles involve rural routes, motorway journeys, and no guaranteed hours.

You will perform daily safety checks, stay in regular contact with the transport team, and participate in ongoing training. The position offers an hourly rate of £19.53 including holiday pay, with various shifts available on an as‑required basis.

Qualifications

• Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence.
• Minimum of 6 months HGV driving experience.
• DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.

Responsibilities

• Deliver fresh milk to the dairy, ensuring careful and precise deliveries.
• Drive on mainly rural routes and motorway journeys.
• Ensure timely deliveries and meet client requirements.

About the Role

As a Class 1 Casual Driver, you will:

• Take on the fulfilling task of delivering fresh milk to the dairy, ensuring every delivery is made with care and precision.
• Engage in a variety of driving experiences, from mostly rural routes through scenic countryside to motorway journeys.
• Ensure timely deliveries and collections, meeting our client's requirements and maintaining high standards.
• Perform comprehensive daily vehicle safety checks using your company phone to maintain top-notch vehicle safety and reliability.
• Stay in regular communication with the transport team to provide updates on your progress and ensure our customers' expectations are met.
• Participate in regular training sessions to stay ahead with the latest industry standards and best practices.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

• Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence.
• Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
• A minimum of 6 months' HGV driving experience.
• Experience with milk tankers would be an advantage, though full training will be provided for the right candidate.
• Thrive under deadlines, showcasing your ability to work efficiently and effectively.
• Be a confident, polite, and collaborative team player, contributing to a positive work environment.
• Have excellent geographical knowledge, navigating routes with ease and precision.
