Job summary

Gregory Distribution Ltd is hiring a Class 1 Driver in the UK. You will collect raw milk from farms, transport to the processing facility, and perform farm collections plus occasional transhipment work. The role operates nights with a 42-hour week on a 7-week rolling rota, requiring 17:00–03:30 shifts.

Full training provided; UK Class 1 CE Licence, DCPC, and Tachograph Card are essential. Salary is £18.98 per hour (£41,452 per year) with overtime paid at enhanced rates.

Qualifications

• Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence.
• Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
• Milk tanker experience is an advantage; full training provided.
• Able to meet deadlines and work well in a team.
• Good geographical knowledge for route navigation.

Responsibilities

• Collect raw milk from local farms following hygiene standards.
• Transport deliveries to the processing facility meeting client requirements.
• Handle farm collections and occasional transhipment tasks.
• Ensure on-time deliveries and maintain high standards.
• Carry out daily vehicle safety checks and communicate with the transport team.
• Participate in regular training on procedures and standards.

About the Role

As a Class 1 Driver, you will:

• Collect raw milk from a network of local farms, ensuring strict adherence to hygiene and safety standards throughout the process.
• Transport deliveries to the processing facility, ensuring all collections and deliveries meet client requirements.
• Embrace a variety of tasks, including farm collections and occasional transhipment work, adding variety to your daily routine.
• Ensure all deliveries and collections are completed on time, meeting client requirements and maintaining consistently high standards.
• Enjoy rural driving while navigating beautiful landscapes and countryside routes.
• Carry out comprehensive daily vehicle safety checks using the company phone to ensure vehicle safety, compliance, and reliability.
• Maintain regular communication with the transport team, providing updates on progress and any issues encountered.
• Participate in regular training sessions to remain up to date with industry standards, procedures, and best practices.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

• Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence.
• Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
• Experience with milk tankers would be an advantage, though full training will be provided for the right candidate.

• Have excellent geographical knowledge, navigating routes with ease and precision.
