Job summary

The Matthew Arnold School in Oxford is seeking a reliable Casual Site Assistant to join the Site Team on an ad hoc basis. You will help maintain a safe, clean and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors, under the Site Supervisor and Assistant Business Manager.

Responsibilities include cleaning, litter picking, setting up rooms for events and exams, and assisting with post-event reinstatement. Training will be provided and health and safety procedures must be followed.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent).
• Good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexible, proactive and self-motivated approach.
• Awareness of health and hygiene requirements.

Responsibilities

• Undertake general cleaning, maintenance and site duties.
• Carry out litter picking and empty bins across the school grounds.
• Assist with setting up and clearing rooms for events, examinations and school activities.
• Support the preparation and reinstatement of facilities following events.
• Operate cleaning equipment and machinery following appropriate training.
• Follow all health and safety, safeguarding and site procedures.
• Work collaboratively with the Site Team and wider school staff.
• Undertake training and other duties appropriate to the role.
• Experience delivering a responsive, customer-focused service.
