Job summary

Coleg Sir Gâr and Coleg Ceredigion are seeking a motivated Casual Technician in Construction to join our team at Ammanford Campus. You will support the Carpentry team and contribute to all technical areas within the curriculum, ensuring a safe and efficient learning environment.

The role requires a minimum Level 2/3 qualification in Construction trades, practical industry experience, and a commitment to high teaching standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 2/3 Qualification in Construction trades.
• Appropriate Health & Safety training or willingness to undertake.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance and support for teaching and learning within your area.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with Health and Safety regulations.
• Prepare, maintain and update Health & Safety documentation (Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work, COSHH, equipment records).
• Maintain, upgrade and service equipment (wood machining and construction related machinery).
• Ensure care and security of course equipment, materials and stock.
• Maintain stores inventory for consumables and equipment.
• Carry out stock ordering in line with college procedures and update ordering system.
• Provide stores issue and return service for equipment and course items.
• Participate in course teams, student committees and curriculum meetings as required.
• Support marketing and promotion of course programmes.
• Assist lecturers and students in workshop activities per timetable.
