Age Connects Morgannwg is the leading charity working with older people living in Rhondda Cynon Taf, Bridgend and Merthyr Tydfil (the Cwm Taf Morgannwg Health Board footprint). We have a strong history with over 45 years of supporting older people and their families through some of the most difficult times in their life. We also have a proven track record of listening to older people, learning what’s important to them and caring about the way they are treated, perceived, and portrayed.

About the Job

Job Purpose

The chef will ensure the Hyb Kitchen and Coffee Shop is continually cultivated as an integral part of Cynon Linc. A member of the catering team, working closely with and reporting to the Lead Chef and/or Hospitality Manager. In their absence, this post will share responsibility for all aspects of The Hyb Kitchen and Coffee Shop and motivate the Catering team to achieve targets and maintain high standards.

Creativity and enthusiasm for great food and presentation are crucial to delight our guests and encourage repeat visits!

The role comprises three main components:

1. Operational Management: Ensure The Hyb Kitchen and Coffee Shop comply with high standards of safety, cleanliness, quality, and performance, while maintaining operational effectiveness and efficiency.
2. Operational Delivery: Ensure the daily menu is prepared to the highest standard using fresh ingredients, and respond to any special dietary requirements or preferences, promoting choice, dignity, and respect.
3. Business Development and Finance: Collaborate with the Hospitality Manager, Catering Team, and Hub Support Team to identify new opportunities for the Hyb Kitchen and Coffee Shop.
