Main Purpose of the Role

As a Bank/Casual Chef Tutor, your role is to plan, prepare, deliver, and evaluate inspiring, engaging, and individualised Food Preparation sessions of the highest quality that challenge and stretch every student.

Your role supports our mission to help young adults with learning disabilities find sustainable employment in the hospitality sector and live independently.

Responsibilities
  1. Plan, prepare, deliver, and evaluate inspiring, engaging, and individualised sessions that challenge and stretch students.
  2. Support students professionally, effectively, and sensitively in their learning.
  3. Manage student behaviour professionally and effectively, seeking guidance when needed.
  4. Ensure each student makes progress each session, with progress recorded and evaluated.
  5. Deliver sessions that motivate and engage students throughout, maintaining full engagement.
  6. Be familiar with and actively use the principles of RARPA (Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement).
  7. Maintain and develop professional standards within Food Preparation.
  8. Prepare food to the highest standards in line with hotel menus.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Level 4 Certificate in Education, or higher.
  • City and Guilds Hospitality and Catering Level 2 or equivalent.
  • Experience working in a hospitality catering setting.
  • Experience in vocational education (desirable).
  • Experience working in a team setting.
  • Allergens knowledge (desirable).
  • Experience working with young vulnerable adults or children (desirable).
