Leicester City Council is seeking a casual cafe assistant to support the Braunstone Leisure Centre cafe. You will take orders, prepare food and drinks, handle cash, and ensure cleanliness and safety compliance while delivering excellent customer service.
The role is casual with shifts offered on a notice basis, contributing to a positive team environment and a high standard of service for customers and events.

Working in the relaxed environment of Braunstone Leisure centre we are looking for a motivated, dynamic individual to prepare food and serve in our cafe.
Joining a bright team that focuses on delivering great customer service, you’ll take responsibility to ensure that the cafe operates efficiently and help the leisure centre in maintaining their outstanding record by performing to the highest possible standard on cleanliness, maintenance and food and drink presentation as well as following the latest health and safety guidance.
Meeting regularly with the team you’ll create a positive environment for everyone having an enthusiastic approach to you job and customer relations.
This role will be on a casual basis, you will be contacted with prior notice of shifts available to take.
On a day to day basis, you’ll support in the leisure centre cafe, completing a variety of roles including taking orders, food & drink preparation, cleaning, storage, and cash handling.
Working as part of a team, you’ll provide excellent customer service, promoting cafe products and dealing with enquiries for events such as birthday parties. Helping replenish stock deliveries that you’ll check against delivery notes and store as instructed in line with hygiene and safety regulations.
Having a currentCIEH foundation certificate in food safetyor equivalenti.e. awarded by an equivalent body/ provider, you’ll have experience in a catering environment. Dealing with the customers, you’ll be able to manager orders and prepare food creating a positive experience for everyone.
You should be able to manage cash and you’ll use the IT and till system to give change, manage orders and cash up the daily takings. You’ll maintain records in line with Leicester City Council financial procedures and the Health & Hygiene Regulations.
