Job summary

Inveraray Castle in Argyll is seeking a proactive Visitor Experience Manager to lead day‑to‑day visitor operations and drive growth in collaboration with the Duchess of Argyll and the Estate team.

You will oversee guiding, retail, tearoom, gardens and digital activity, while building relationships with tour operators and partners. A hands‑on leader, you will shape exhibitions and visitor experiences across seasons.

Qualifications

• Experience in a busy visitor or customer‑facing operation.
• Supervising, coordinating people in a team environment.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Commercial curiosity and interest in developing visitor numbers and revenue.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365, particularly Excel, and ability to learn new systems quickly.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day visitor operation across guiding, retail, catering, parking and access.
• Ensure consistently high standards across castle, gardens, shop and tearoom.
• Lead and support a ~46‑strong seasonal/permanent team with rota planning.
• Collaborate with Head Guide, Shop/Tearoom Manager and colleagues on staffing and programming.
• Develop relations with tour operators, coach companies, cruise operators and partners.
