We have an exciting opportunity for a Cornwall-based Caseworker to join the Multi-Crime team in Devon & Cornwall, working 37.5 hours a week.

Office location: This is a home-based role in Cornwall, with a requirement to work approximately once a week from an office at a local partner agency in Cornwall or our local office: Suite 1, First Floor, Argosy House, Longbridge Road Plymouth PL6 8LD

Full time/Part time: Full time

Hours per week: 37.5

Work schedule: 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday with requirement to work 10:15am to 6:15pm one day per week on a rota basis

Basic Salary: £26,010 per annum plus £350 per annum Home Working Allowance

About the role:

This role is home-based and is open to applicants living in Cornwall who have access to an appropriately confidential space in which to work. Regular travel will be required both to our office in Plymouth & throughout Cornwall, with occasional travel to Devon. Usual working hours will be Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, however you will need to provide cover 1 day per week working 10:15am to 6:15pm on a rota basis & there may be an occasional need to work outside core hours to meet the demands of the role.

As a Caseworker, you will:

  • Develop, deliver and monitor safety and support plans for those affected by crime who accept ongoing support, including providing resources, interventions, and information to all service users
  • Work alongside and oversee the casework management of a small number of volunteer supporters
  • Liaise and actively engage with other local providers to share information on the VS service offer and options for victims and survivors
  • Use a bespoke case management system to maintain accurate and confidential records and contribute to monitoring information including outcomes collection
  • Work as part of a team with staff and volunteers to provide a seamless service to clients
You will need:
  • Understanding of the impact of crime on victims such as domestic abuse, sexual violence, hate crime, and anti-social behaviour
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience of successfully delivering services and working directly within statutory, voluntary, or multi-agency settings
  • Ability to balance competing needs and priorities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience of building effective working relationships across internal and external stakeholders
  • Personal resilience to manage exposure to highly emotional or sensitive demands of the role
  • Ability to manage a caseload including complex case management
  • Ability to use generic IT applications competently
  • A driving license and access to a vehicle, as this role involves regular travel
