Job summary

Morgan Jones Recruitment Consultants is helping an education provider in London recruit a Carpentry Technician in Belvedere. This permanent, workshop-based role offers strong facilities, varied duties and clear career development.

You will prepare materials, support lecturers and students, maintain safety and equipment, and assist with open days and projects. Level 3 Carpentry & Joinery or an apprenticeship is required, with industry experience and good teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Carpentry & Joinery qualification or completed apprenticeship.
• Experience in carpentry/joinery industry.
• Strong workshop, tooling and materials knowledge.
• Good understanding of health and safety requirements.
• Ability to organise workloads and prepare resources efficiently.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Experience within an educational environment desirable.
• First Aid qualification or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Prepare materials, tools and workshop facilities for practical sessions
• Provide technical support to lecturers and students
• Demonstrate safe working practices, materials and techniques
• Maintain workshop equipment and service records
• Manage stock control and assist with ordering materials
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH and risk assessments
• Support student projects and assessment activities
• Build and maintain workshop rigs, storage systems and learning resources
• Promote positive student behaviour and engagement
• Support open days, taster sessions and college events
• Undertake First Aid responsibilities following training
