Job summary

Axis Recruitment is seeking an enthusiastic Carpentry Lecturer to join our team at Holly Hill Campus in Belvedere.

This role is ideal for an experienced tradesperson and/or qualified teacher who can deliver practical carpentry, plan sessions, assess work, and support students to progress in the construction industry. You will foster a safe, inclusive learning environment and collaborate with colleagues to enhance student achievement.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 2 literacy and numeracy (GCSE or equivalent).
• Qualified FE Teacher or willingness to work towards a teaching qualification.
• Proven experience in carpentry, teaching, training, or relevant industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and high-quality carpentry lessons to students.
• Plan and prepare practical and theoretical teaching sessions.
• Demonstrate carpentry techniques, tools, equipment and safe working practices.
• Support students in developing their practical skills, knowledge and confidence.
• Assess student work and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain accurate student records and complete required administration.
• Ensure all workshop activities comply with relevant health and safety requirements.
• Create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Work effectively with colleagues and contribute to students' overall progression and achievement.
