Job summary

Burton and South Derbyshire College is seeking a Carpentry and Joinery Course Leader to teach, assess and monitor students from levels 1 to 3 at the Stephen Burke Construction Academy in Swadlincote. The role may include delivering evening classes and liaising with management and other departments.

Industrial and commercial carpentry/joinery experience is essential, with a teaching qualification, assessor award, and willingness to progress Level 2 English and Maths.

Qualifications

• Qualified to teach Carpentry and Joinery at levels 1–3 with relevant industry experience.
• Desirable: teaching qualification and assessor award.
• Experience with apprenticeship systems and operations.

Responsibilities

• Teach, assess, and monitor full-time and Apprentice students.
• Support and facilitate student learning and liaise with management.
• May deliver part-time evening courses as required.
