Job summary

Cardiff Council is offering a Carpentry Apprentice role within the Responsive Repairs Unit and Void Section. You will develop workplace skills while undertaking a Level 3 Carpentry Apprenticeship via day release at Cardiff & Vale College (Barry Campus).

You will attend college one day per week and complete the qualification within the scheduled timescales. Aged 3 GCSEs (Maths, English, Science) at A–D are required to enrol on the NVQ course.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn and be comfortable in a learning environment.
• Attend Cardiff and Vale College one day per week to complete the relevant qualification.
• GCSEs in Maths, English and Science at grades A–D or equivalent to enrol on the NVQ course.

Responsibilities

• Be part of a team delivering a first-class carpentry service.
• Receive supervision and on-the-job training from experienced tradesmen.
• Develop skills across a range of carpentry tasks within the Housing & Communities service.
