Job summary

East Suffolk Council is seeking a fully skilled Carpenter/UPVC Fitter to join the Housing Building Maintenance team. You will perform a wide range of carpentry repairs, maintenance and refurbishment works to Council homes, including repairing and replacing UPVC components such as windows and locks, while delivering high-quality workmanship and customer service.

You will participate in the out-of-hours emergency call-out rota, maintain housing stock, and ensure safe, efficient work practices.

Qualifications

• Fully skilled carpenter with proven experience in repairs and refurbishment.
• Hold multi-skill trades to support repairs and maintenance.
• Experience repairing and replacing UPVC components.
• Solid knowledge of Health and Safety regulations and safe working practices.
• Ability to work independently and manage workloads.

Responsibilities

• Carry out carpentry repairs and refurbishment in Council homes.
• Repair and replace UPVC windows and locks.
• Deliver high-quality workmanship and provide good customer service to tenants.
• Work safely and efficiently, complying with health and safety standards.
• Participate in the out-of-hours emergency call-out rota.
• Contribute to maintaining and improving Council housing stock.
