Job summary

Skilled Careers is seeking an experienced Carpenter to join our maintenance team, delivering high-quality carpentry repairs across social housing properties in Harrow and surrounding areas.

You will carry out responsive and planned carpentry repairs, install doors, frames, skirting, and flooring, and work on first and second fix tasks. A valid UK driving licence and strong customer service are essential.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry and Joinery (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience as a Carpenter, ideally in social housing or maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of first and second fix carpentry.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out responsive and planned carpentry repairs within social housing properties.
• Repair, replace, and install: internal and external doors; door frames and architraves; skirting boards; kitchens and worktops; flooring and timber structures; locks, ironmongery, and door furniture; windows and timber repairs.
• Complete first and second fix carpentry work.
• Undertake minor multi-trade tasks where required, including basic plumbing, tiling, decorating, or patch plastering.
• Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
• Maintain accurate records of completed work using handheld devices or paperwork.
• Provide excellent customer service and communicate professionally with tenants and colleagues.
• Keep company vehicles, tools, and equipment clean and well maintained.
