Qualifications

• Proven competence in carpentry or joinery within construction
• Experience in general maintenance in a college or similar environment preferred
• Ability to respond promptly to emergency maintenance tasks
• Methodical and organised with tidy working practices
• Willingness to learn and adapt to varied tasks
• Strong customer service and professional manner
• IT literacy for record-keeping and basic admin
• Understanding of health and safety legislation and safe working practices
• Ability to work independently and manage workload under pressure
• Ability to lift boxes, tools, and materials as required

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, repair, install and maintain furniture, fixtures, shelving, doors and windows across College buildings
• Carry out carpentry work including measuring, cutting, fitting and finishing timber
• Plan and prioritise tasks with the Maintenance Operations Manager
• Assist with events requiring temporary structures or minor building adaptations
• Provide out-of-hours maintenance support for college events
