Job summary

The Belfry Hotel & Resort is seeking a skilled carpenter to join our maintenance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This 40-hour per week role includes weekends and evenings, tackling reactive maintenance issues in a busy hotel environment and carrying out preventive checks across front of house areas.

You will work autonomously yet collaborate with other departments, ensuring safety policies and high standards of guest comfort. Previous carpentry experience in a hotel setting is preferred.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a carpenter in a similar position and setting.
• Positive approach, excellent organisational skills, and a passion for high-quality customer care and property safety.
• Computer literacy is preferred, however full systems training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Carry out PPM checks in all front of house areas in line with resort requirements.
• Carry out weekly, monthly and quarterly compliance checks in line with resort requirements.
• Ensure all jobs are completed in a tidy and timely manner.
• Comply with H&S, Food Safety and Fire Safety policies at all times.
• Safeguard the company’s property at all times.
• Deal with carpentry issues across the resort.
• Carry out other duties as requested by the Chief Engineer or Property Office.

The on-target earning potential for this role is £28,867.53 annual salary, compromising of a base salary of £27,765.13 plus a qualified estimate of £1,102.40 gratuities per annum.

About the role

We are looking for a carpenter to join the maintenance team on a 12-month fixed term contact.

This role is for 40 hours per week working a variety of shifts and will include weekends and evenings.

As a maintenance assistant, you will be attending various reactive maintenance issues in a Hotel Environment.

Other responsibilities will be -

• To carry out PPM checks in all front of house areas in line with resort requirements
• To carry out weekly, monthly and quarterly compliance checks in line with resort requirements
• To ensure all jobs given to you have been completed in a tidy and timely manner
• To comply with H&S, Food Safety and Fire Safety policies at all times.
• To safeguard the company’s property at all times.
• To deal with carpentry issues across the resort.
• To carry out any reasonable requests by the Chief Engineer or Property Office.
• To carry out other duties that may be necessary from time to time.

About you

The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a carpenter in a similar position and setting.

In addition to this you will
