Job summary

The Belfry is seeking a capable Mechanic to maintain our machinery fleet across the estate. Under the Head Mechanic, you will diagnose, repair and service equipment, welding and fabricating as required, and handle engine work including two-stroke and four-stroke engines.

Flexibility is valued as some evenings and weekends may be required; join a team dedicated to keeping our world-class golf courses and facilities in peak condition.

Qualifications

• Basic training or experience is required for this role.
• Interest in mechanics and golf helps performance.
• Previous greenkeeper experience is preferred.

Our Greenkeeping team ensures every fairway, green, and bunker meets the exacting standards expected by golfers from around the world. The Gardening team brings the resort to life, crafting and maintaining beautiful landscapes that guests love to explore. Behind the scenes, our skilled Mechanics keep the machinery running smoothly, powering the work that makes our courses exceptional.

Salary

The salary for this role is £27,705.60 per annum, plus tips.

About the role

As a Mechanic, your role would be to undertake general maintenance of our machinery fleet on a daily basis, working under the management of the Head Mechanic. Although we do try to give all our employees a good work-life balance you may be required to work some evenings and weekends in this role. Duties include:

• Assisting in the diagnostics and repairs of failing equipment
• Communicating with the Head Mechanic of any repairs, stock requests and general servicing
• Undertaking welding and fabrication as and when required
• Repairing two-stroke and four-stroke engines
• Repairing and replacing tyres and other parts

About You

Our Greenkeeping team is a group of friendly and hardworking individuals with a passion for what they do and an ability to work individually and as a team. We are looking for someone who will fit in with the culture. Basic training or experience is required for this role. We would also prefer:

• an interest in mechanics
• an interest in golf
• previous greenkeeper experience
