A leading company in public services is seeking a Building Craftsperson (Carpenter) for the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital. Salary - £27,000 - £36,000 (depending on experience and qualifications) per annum plus benefits
Here at Serco, we’re looking for a Building Craftsperson (Carpenter) to join us at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a diverse environment, providing a wide scope for developing skills and knowledge across the wider building trade, while supporting the NHS and the community.
Reporting to the Building Supervisor, you will be part of the building maintenance team responsible for providing building maintenance across the Norfolk & Norwich Hospital site as part of Serco’s Hard FM estates service to the NHS.
Main Accountabilities
The post holder will ensure that the hospital’s building and fabric services and equipment are maintained to a high standard, ensuring their quality, safety, and reliability.
You will undertake planned preventative maintenance and respond to repairs as requested by the client, supported by necessary training (e.g., working at heights, health and safety). Typical work includes:
Requirements for the Role:
Applicants should demonstrate previous experience in a similar maintenance role within a large organization, hold a minimum of NVQ Level 2, and ideally have knowledge of the building trade. A professional approach, strong health and safety awareness, good communication and customer service skills, and the ability to work under pressure are essential.
