Role Description

The Carpenter role is a full-time, on-site position based in Hockley.

The Carpenter will be expected to perform a variety of tasks including measuring, cutting, and installing timber frame extensions / loft conversions.

Day-to-day responsibilities include reading and interpreting drawings or work instructions, selecting appropriate materials, and using hand tools and power tools to complete structural and 2nd fix carpentry work.

The role involves collaborating with other team members, maintaining a clean and safe work area, and ensuring all work meets company standards and applicable regulations.

Qualifications

• Strong carpentry skills, including experience with 1st & 2nd fix carpentry.
• Proficiency in safe and effective use of power tools and hand tools.
• Ability to read and interpret basic plans, drawings, or work specifications.
• Good understanding of construction site safety practices and regulations.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Physical ability to perform manual work, including lifting, standing, and working at heights.
• Previous experience in residential carpentry is essential.
• Relevant trade certification or apprenticeship training is an asset.
