Job summary

Gov Facilities Services Limited (GFSL) at HMP The Mount, Hemel Hempstead, is seeking a dedicated Carpenter Locksmith to join a cross-functional facilities team. You will work alongside Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters and Administrators to maintain safe, secure prison environments and support rehabilitation goals.

Ideal candidates have substantiated carpentry experience, tool competency, and health and safety knowledge, plus First Aid at Work.

Qualifications

• Substantiated experience in similar role.
• Be able to display competency in the use and operation of all associated power tools and machinery.
• Basic IT skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel and Word.
• Knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements.
• Up to date First Aid at Work Qualification.
• City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 in Carpentry or an equivalent qualification or substantial experience.
• Good Health & Safety knowledge.
• Excellent organisational, time management and people skills.

Responsibilities

• Carpenter Locksmith duties within HMP The Mount.
• Work with Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, and Cleaners to maintain safe facilities.
• Ensure safety, security, and rehabilitation-focused environment for prisoners and staff.

Salary: £ 39,195.77 - £ 41,062.25 with 5%shift allowance for weekend working

Contract: Full time/ Permanent
