Job summary

The Gables in Hagley, near Stourbridge, part of Cinnamon Care Collection, is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join the catering team. The role is full-time, 40 hours per week, with some weekend shifts, in a luxury 61-bed residential and dementia care home.

As part of the catering team, you will support the Head Chef with meal preparation, hygiene, and stock control, ensuring high-quality meals for residents and compliant with safety standards.

Qualifications

• Flexible to cover weekends and shifts.
• Passion for catering with willingness to train.
• Able to work in a kitchen to support the Head Chef.

Responsibilities

• Support Head Chef and team to deliver catering services throughout the home, ensuring resident choice at all times.
• Prepare nutritional food and beverages to a high standard, as directed by the Head Chef.
• Maintain a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen and storage areas.
• Prepare special diet meals as needed and as directed by the Head Chef.
• Provide feedback to the Head Chef and Chef on complaints from residents or others, and address them where possible.
• Support cost-effective stock control systems to minimise waste and ensure these are in place.
