Job summary

Cygnet Wast Hills is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join our team and help prepare and serve meals for residents. You will work 40 hours per week on a 7-day rota (4 x 10-hour shifts from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm), maintaining high hygiene standards and supporting a welcoming, person-centred environment.

The role requires a passion for catering, good communication, and reliability; an enhanced DBS check is required. This on-site position offers ongoing opportunities within the Cygnet Group.

Qualifications

• Passionate about catering, preferably with experience within a care setting.
• Enthusiastic, keen to learn and an active team member.
• Polite and professional, with a positive attitude at all times.
• An excellent communicator who can liaise with people at all levels.
• Able to work on your own initiative and under supervision.
• Diligent and take pride in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Assist the team in providing balanced, appetising meals; basic food preparation and kitchen duties.
• Sort, store and distribute ingredients, check deliveries and help with stock ordering.
• Maintain personal hygiene and keep the kitchen clean and hygienic.
• Handle and store kitchen equipment in line with procedures.
• Use chemicals in line with COSHH regulations.
