Maria Mallaband Care Group is hiring a Kitchen Assistant at our Reading care home. You will assist with food preparation, plate meals, and maintain a clean, compliant kitchen following Health and Safety and Food Standard regulations.

You will support chefs, manage food trolleys, and keep prep areas tidy while communicating effectively with residents and staff. A caring, flexible attitude and interest in working in a care home are essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to manage pressure, prioritise tasks and communicate effectively at all levels.
• Link between the main kitchen and residents.
• Assist the chefs to plate meals, prepare food trolleys and keep prep areas clean and tidy.
• Genuine interest in working in a care home environment.
• Experience in a care home is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene according to H&S standards.
