Job summary

Care South Residential is seeking a Kitchen Assistant for St Ives House. You will assist the chef, prepare fresh meals, and help residents with dining while ensuring food safety and cleanliness in a busy kitchen.

The role is 24 hours per week on two shifts, with weekend work. The pay is £12.85 per hour, and we offer a friendly team, induction, training, and a range of staff benefits as part of our Care South HEART values.

Qualifications

• Experience in care or catering is helpful but not essential.
• Happy and confident in a busy kitchen environment.
• Ability to support residents during mealtimes.
• Caring and respectful attitude towards residents.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Chef and kitchen team with basic meal prep for residents.
• Follow all food safety and health & safety regulations.
• Support residents to enjoy their dining experience with every meal.
• Keep kitchen and dining areas clean and hygienic.
• Wash appliances and crockery; sanitise food prep areas.
