Job summary

Avery Healthcare Group is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant for Beaconsfield Heights Care Home in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire. You will support catering, help prepare meals, and keep the kitchen clean to ensure safe production for residents.

We value compassionate, reliable team players with Basic Food Hygiene, knowledge of health and safety, and a proactive attitude toward residents. DBS check will be required and eligibility to work in the UK must be shown.

Qualifications

• Hold Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and high standard of personal hygiene.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety, particularly Moving & Handling techniques, Fire Safety and COSHH assessments.
• Efficient worker with ability to sustain physical effort and manage demanding workload.
• Demonstrates initiative and flexible aptitude to teamwork.
• Caring and understanding attitude towards residents.

Responsibilities

• Support the catering function in food preparation and maintain a clean kitchen environment for safe production of meals and beverages.
• Understand and apply safe food handling to keep hygiene standards high.
• Contribute to team working and respond to colleagues; follow work instructions promptly.
• Advise on supply and quality of items needed; ensure timely ordering of replacements.
• Act with respect towards residents and their visitors, upholding dignity.
