Job summary

Cygnet Wast Hills is seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to join our team. You’ll work 40 hours per week on a 7-day rota, with 4 x 10-hour shifts from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, helping to prepare and serve meals.

You will maintain high hygiene standards and support a welcoming environment for the people we support, while handling stock, deliveries and kitchen equipment according to COSHH regulations.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering, ideally in care settings.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Able to work in a 7-day rota and maintain high hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals to residents.
• Assist with basic food preparation and kitchen duties.
• Wash utensils and keep kitchen clean and hygienic.
• Manage ingredients, deliveries and stock ordering.
• Ensure COSHH-compliant handling of chemicals.
