Job summary

Student Roost is seeking a Caretaker to maintain and oversee the Leicester property, ensuring a safe, clean, and well-presented living environment for students. You will perform repairs, assist in compliance checks, and coordinate with external contractors while delivering excellent resident service.

Ideal candidates are people-focused, team-oriented, tech-literate, and able to work 37.5 hours per week across 5 days. DBS check is required; this role involves on-site duties and some heavy lifting.

Qualifications

• Experience in building maintenance or facilities is a plus.
• Willingness to undergo a DBS check.
• Comfortable escorting contractors and coordinating third-party work.
• Ability to log reports accurately using mobile apps.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and carry out small repairs across the building.
• Escort third-party contractors to work sites and ensure access management.
• Lead compliance checks with attention to detail and produce precise reports.
• Support grounds and general upkeep where required.
• Deliver strong resident experience through proactive maintenance.

Salary: £26,227.50

Hours: Average of 37.5 hours per week, working 5 days out of 7 8am to 8pm.

• Electrical training will be provided however any additional maintenance qualifications are welcomed, but not essential.
