Job summary

BAM UK & Ireland is seeking a Caretaker/Site Technician to join our FM segment. Based at Tudor Grange Academy Redditch and Tudor Grange Academy Alcester, you will work 40 hours per week for 40 weeks per year. A Driving licence will be required for this role. Hourly rate £13.50.

DBS will be required for this role; join a forward-thinking organisation with a focus on safe, well-maintained school environments and reliable out-of-hours support.

Qualifications

• Experience working to a high standard in one or more trades.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to use own initiative.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Full Driving licence.
• Experience in an educational institution would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Respond to daily requests and resolve issues from Authority representatives, building users and BAM FM staff.
• Carry out general site maintenance and porterage duties.
• Maintain high customer satisfaction through fast response and completion rates.
• Develop and manage ongoing maintenance programs.
• Provide detailed information to enable purchasing spares via the helpdesk.
• Ensure safe storage of spare parts, materials, tools and consumables.
• Report and address maintenance issues promptly.
• Provide technical support to others when requested.
• Adhere to health and safety standards for external contractors.
• Carry out risk assessments and method statements.
• Perform daily room set-ups and porterage requests.
• Manage the BMS system and run monthly reports.
• Provide emergency access and out-of-hours cover for maintenance emergencies.
• Any other duties as required.

BAM UK & Ireland is recruiting a Caretaker/Site Technician to join our FM segment of the business. You will be based at dual locations including Tudor Grange Academy in Redditch and Tudor Grange Academy in Alcester. Working 40 hours per week, and working 40 weeks per year. A Driving licence will be required for this role. • Responding to daily requests/enquiries, and resolving problems presented by Authority representatives, building users and other BAM FM staff.
• Proactive and flexible approach to general site maintenance issues and porterage duties.
• Deliver a high level of customer satisfaction based on speed of response and completion rates.
• Development and management of ongoing and routine maintenance programs.
• Provide sufficient details to enable accurate purchasing of spares and consumables via the helpdesk.
• Responsible for the safe and secure storage of spare parts, materials, tools and consumables.
• Ensure self-reporting of maintenance issues are reported and dealt with in a timely manner.
• Providing technical support to others when requested.
• Adhere to health & safety standards as per company procedures for external contractors.
• Carry out risk and method statements.
