Acorn by Synergie is recruiting for a Caretaker / Site Manager to cover a temporary contract at a primary school in Oldham. The role is term-time only, with 25 hours per week across two daily shifts: 7am-9am and 3pm-6pm. Responsibilities include site security, cleaning, basic maintenance, and preparing rooms for events. Immediate start available.

The position runs until at least the end of October and may be extended beyond this date. DBS check is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning functions and high-standard duties.
• Ability to work independently or with a team and build relationships.
• Willingness to follow simple instructions and training.
• Commitment to health and safety procedures and clean-up routines.
• Current enhanced DBS certificate is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lock and unlock the site and maintain security at all times.
• Check the fire alarm and conduct a Health & Safety walk.
• Update records on a computer.
• Undertake cleaning duties and support the cleaning team.
• Perform general maintenance including painting.
• Assemble and move furniture as required.
• Care for equipment, materials and storage areas used in cleaning.
• Provide efficient removal, storage and waste disposal services.
• Identify and report building or equipment faults promptly.
• Prepare rooms for use and clear rooms afterwards.
• Participate in required training.
• Complete all duties in accordance with Health & Safety regulations, policies and safe systems of work.

Introduction

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting for a Caretaker / Site Manager to work on a temporary basis at a primary school in Oldham. This term-time only role provides the opportunity to maintain high standards across school premises while supporting a friendly, professional team.

The role is expected to continue until at least the end of October, but may continue after this.

The 25 hours per week are split across two shifts per day, 7am-9am and 3pm-6pm.

Key Duties
