Protocol Education Limited is working with a Primary School in North Bristol to appoint a Caretaker. The role focuses on safeguarding the building and grounds, maintaining a presentable, safe environment, and supervising contractors.

Key duties include opening and locking the premises, checking heating, lighting, and alarms, and coordinating maintenance with internal staff and external contractors. The position runs Monday to Friday with early morning and late afternoon shifts.

Competenze

• Experience in caretaking or facilities management is desirable.
• Strong communication with school teams to coordinate tasks.
• Ability to supervise contractors and maintain building safety.

Protocol Education are working with a Primary School in North Bristol, who are looking to appoint a Caretaker. The amazing primary school would be a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate. You will be responsible for the safety of the building and it's grounds, ensuring that the school is presentable, safe and effective.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced facilities professional who supervises work across the school with both external and internal contractors. You will have key holder responsibility as well as the responsibilities listed below;

About the role:

• Communicate effectively with the school team to ensure projects are completed on time.
• Carrying out Day-Day maintenance and minor repairs.
• Ensuring the building and grounds are secure when not in use.
• Opening up the building in the morning and locking it at the end of the day.
• Ensuring heating, lighting and alarm systems are checked regularly to ensure they are operational.
• Responsibility for order equipment relevant to your role.

Days & Hours - Monday - Friday, 7am-9am, then, 15:45pm-18:15pm.

Location - Bristol / BS34

Start date - November 2026

Skill set - Previous caretaking or facilities experience desirable

Protocol Education are required to take safeguarding steps which include:

• 2 professional references and work experience gaps listed

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
