Job summary

Yorkshire Housing is looking for a Caretaker in Wakefield to join our friendly team. You will carry out routine patrols, inspections and maintenance across your patch, including void property work and occasional driving of the cage van.

A driving licence is essential and you’ll support garden upkeep as required. The role offers 35 hours per week, a salary of £25,875, 26 days of annual leave rising to 31, and a range of wellbeing and pension benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in care taking or maintenance roles is desirable.
• Proven ability to deliver good customer service in a housing environment.

What you will be doing…

Routine patrols and inspections across ‘your patch’. You’ll be emptying void properties (lifting / handling required) as well as carrying out ad-hoc maintenance work, such as lock changes or jet washing. We’ll also need you to drive the cage van from time to time (we provide training on this!). If a garden spruce up is needed, we’d like your help with this too.

Where?

You'll primarily work in South/West Yorkshire, but may need to travel around Yorkshire from time to time!
