Job summary

Capita is hiring a Caretaker/Janitor for the Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre, delivering a full cleaning service and grounds maintenance on a 40-hour week. You may travel to alternate sites, so a driving licence and vehicle use is preferred. Police vetting is required, with UK residence for at least 3 years.

You’ll join Capita/Tascor’s facilities team, supporting secure operations with reliable, flexible cover including weekends and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in a maintenance/cleaning role.
• Previous work in a secure facility is preferred.
• Basic ICT, electrical and mechanical skills are desired.

Responsibilities

• Provide a full cleaning service (planned and reactive) across the facility.
• Undertake monthly internal/external window cleaning and grounds maintenance.
• Manage waste, stock consumables, and equipment; train staff when needed.
• Offer cover across sites, including weekends and holidays.
