Caretaker Join Our Community Learning Team

Location: Various ACL Centres across Blaenau Gwent

Salary: Grade 3 SCP 4 (£24,404 FTE)

Hourly Rate: £12.65 per hour

Contract Type: Permanent, Part-Time/Flexible Hours

Car: Access to a vehicle required for work purposes

The Role

We're seeking a motivated and practical caretaker to help ensure our Adult Community Learning (ACL) centres are safe, clean, and fully functional. You’ll play a vital role in supporting learners, staff, and visitors by maintaining a welcoming and secure environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Open/close buildings and operate security systems
• General cleaning and litter control (inside and outside)
• Set up rooms and IT equipment for learning sessions
• Perform minor repairs, maintenance, and safety checks
• Move furniture and equipment, take deliveries
• Work across multiple sites and respond to call-outs

Desirable Skills & Training

• First Aid, Manual Handling, COSHH, or Health & Safety certificates
• Experience in caretaking, especially in community or educational settings
