Job summary

The Supply Register is recruiting for two Multi-Site Caretakers / Maintenance Operatives to join their Estates Team, covering Redruth, Bodmin, Liskeard and Dartington. The role is 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with hours to be agreed, and a permanent term-time contract.

Start date ASAP. You will support multiple school sites with planned and reactive maintenance to keep buildings safe and well maintained.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Caretaker, Site Assistant, Maintenance Operative or Facilities role.
• Practical experience carrying out general maintenance and repairs.
• A good understanding of Health & Safety and safe working practices.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between school sites.
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• Two professional references covering the last 24 months.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across multiple school sites.
• Undertake basic repairs including carpentry, plumbing, painting, decorating and general building maintenance.
• Complete routine site inspections and health & safety checks.
• Ensure school buildings and grounds are safe, secure and well maintained.
• Carry out minor repairs to doors, locks, fixtures and fittings.
• Support with grounds maintenance and the upkeep of external areas.
• Liaise with contractors and monitor works carried out on site.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and report any defects.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH and safeguarding procedures at all times.

Location: Covering school sites between Redruth & Bodmin and Liskeard & Dartington -

2 positions required. One caretaker covering Redruth and Bodmin. Other covering Liskeard and Dartington.

Contract: Permanent, Term Time (plus agreed working pattern)
