Caretaker / Cleaner

Caretaker / Cleaner – Chigwell and Hainault United Synagogue

Salary: £13.00 per hour

Contract Type: As and When - We expect most of the shifts to be evenings and weekends.

Are you practical, reliable, and community-minded? We’re looking for a friendly and diligent Caretaker / Cleaner to help keep our Synagogue premises safe, clean, and welcoming for all.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the Synagogue, function hall, and grounds to a high standard
• Carry out minor repairs and report maintenance issues
• Support events and religious services with room setup and logistics
• Ensure health & safety and security procedures are followed
• Provide excellent customer service to members and visitors
• General Cleaning Duties

• A hands-on, trustworthy individual with good communication skills
• Someone physically able to move furniture and equipment
• A team player who is respectful of the Synagogue’s values and community
• Previous experience in a similar role is desirable
