Job summary

Carers Leeds is seeking a Carer Support Worker to provide information and guidance via our Support Line and to run carers support groups and learning workshops. The role covers citywide travel to community venues or carers' homes and requires a DBS check and access to a car.

The hybrid role includes working from the Carers Leeds office and in community venues, with 35 hours per week and some after-hours slots. Salary SCP23–SCP25 reflects progression with service delivery.

Qualifications

• Provide information and guidance via the Support Line and related services.
• Offer 1:1 support to carers via multiple channels and settings.
• Facilitate carers support groups and learning activities.
• Deliver engaging learning workshops for carers.
• Attend information events to raise awareness of the service.
• Potential to supervise a volunteer and support DBS checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide information and guidance via our Support Line, including a 4.30pm - 6.30pm slot at least one Tuesday per month
• Offer 1:1 support for carers via webchat, phone, video, in the home or at local community venues
• Facilitate carers support group/s
• Plan, develop and deliver learning workshops for carers
• Attend information events to raise awareness of our service and of carers in general
• Opportunity to supervise a volunteer
