Job summary

Companions & Homemakers is seeking caregivers to provide non-medical home care across Connecticut, following individualized care plans. You will transport clients, assist with daily living activities, and offer companionship in a flexible scheduling environment including weekdays, weekends, overnights, and live-in options.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license with insurance, and be able to pass a background check.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Valid driver’s license with reliable vehicle is necessary.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check.
• Open availability preferred for shifts.
• Experience as a caregiver is a plus (HHA/CNA/PCA).

Responsibilities

• Provide non-medical home care following each client’s Plan of Care.
• Transport clients to appointments and activities.
• Assist with light housekeeping, meal prep, errands, and groceries.
• Assist with dressing, bathing, mobility and incontinence care.
• Offer companionship and emotional support.
• Document care and provide reminders as directed.

Your Day-to-Day

• Provide non-medical home care following each client's individualized Plan of Care
• Transport clients to appointments and activities
• Help with light housekeeping, meal prep, errands, and grocery shopping
• Assist with dressing, bathing, mobility, and incontinence care
• Be a steady, caring presence — offering companionship and emotional support
• Document care and provide reminders as directed

What You'll Need

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and reliable vehicle
• Ability to pass a criminal background check
• Open availability preferred
• Experience as a Caregiver, HHA, CNA, PCA, or Companion is a plus
