Job summary

Bedford Academy is seeking a Careers Guidance Lead to embed the school’s career programme and work with students, parents and partners to develop outcomes. You will contribute to staff development, support wellbeing and drive high standards across the school in a collaborative environment.

The role emphasises information, advice and guidance delivery, teamwork and leadership, with 37 hours per week during term time and a supportive induction programme.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification (e.g. ‘A’ Levels or equivalent).
• Minimum Level 4 guidance qualification.
• Knowledge of the role of students’ skills in promoting self-esteem and future success.
• Experience of working with adults and young people, both 1:1 and in groups.
• Experience of working in an education setting.
• Experience of providing information, advice and guidance on learning and work.
• Willingness to learn.
• Ability to motivate staff and students.

• Play a full and active part in Bedford Academy to ensure exceptional practice for young people.
• Ensure continuous improvement in the quality of provision in the areas of responsibility.
• Motivate and lead others by being an exceptional practitioner and a high performing and reliable leader.
• Work with students, parents, staff, employers, education providers and voluntary organisations to implement the careers programme for the School.
• Take responsibility for administration of the work experience programme.
• Contribute to high standards with a focus on developing best practice across the school.

Main Duties Include

Who You Are

Role Details

Term time: 37 hours per week

Monday - Thursday 8:30 - 16:30, Friday 8:30 -16:00 30 minutes unpaid break

Term time plus one week (40 weeks)
